Hot Summer Fun

Hello fellow fishermen and lake lovers!

I hope that everyone has made it safely through the holiday weekend. I would still like to mention to keep those affected by the storms in your prayers. It will take months to repair what Mother Nature destroyed in seconds.

Summertime seems to be here in full force, and I don’t know if I’m ready for it. I am a rather large guy, so I tend to melt on these hot days. This summertime pattern, however, has lent itself to improved fishing, and that is always a good thing. I have been and will continue to be fishing for yellow and white bass. These fish offer the most consistent bite for my clients. For those unfamiliar with the yellow bass, they are as tasty as anything in the lake. They are roughly the same size as bluegill, with the attitudes to match. These hard-fighting fish are fun to catch on light tackle and are generally ready to bite when you find them. We also may pick up a catfish or largemouth bass along the way. Yellow bass are a great way to introduce a kid to fishing since these fish generally provide for lots of bites.

If this sounds like something you would like to try, just give me a call or text. I will do my best to answer immediately, but I will call back if I miss your call. If you are in the area and do not need a Guide, please check out the land between the lakes and shop our local businesses. They will always be glad to have you. If you have fishing needs, or marine repair, stop by and see Brad Culp at Sportsman’s bait, tackle, and marine repair. I promise everyone in there will do their best to take care of you. They are top-quality people, with top quality products. Tell them Bush Hog sent you.

Thank you to everyone who has fished with me in the past. Until my next report, thank you for your time.

Tight lines,

Captain Eric
